What I offer
I work alongside my clients, listening to their unique situation and developing a plan for how to best present their work via beautiful images.
Together we capture photos ideal for their needs; many clients want content for social media and marketing. Some projects require specific documentation for scientific monitoring or evidence gathering, I tailor my service to suit my customer.
If you help me understand the aims and concerns of your work I can help you re-tell your story with photographs.

What I’m best at
My specialism is environmental and landscape scale projects. For the last five years I have been working with landowners, farmers, co-ordinating organisations such as Groundworks NE and nature charities such as the National Trust or Northumberland Wildlife Trust. My passion for conservation and natural history has helped me to understand the nuances and implications of my clients’ projects. Together we have spread the word about the great work which goes on in rural Northumberland.
Public engagement is a particular passion of mine as it aligns so closely with my experience and goals as a qualified photography teacher. Through engagement in their local projects I have offered workshops, walks and exhibitions for my clients to help them strengthen their links to the local community and visiting guests.
What I’ve done
Working alongside Groundworks North East and Cumbria I have been documenting a major intervention taking place in the Upper Wansbeck Catchment area. These exciting changes are being put in place to improve biodiversity and monitor carbon capture.
My role in the ongoing work has been broad. Sensitivity, respect and preparedness has been useful to work alongside farmers in all weathers. A strong technical grasp has served me when scientific precision has been required to accurately record change. Creativity and clear communication have allowed us to engage with members of the public to educate and inform.
It has been a privilege to play a small role in the vital changes this project heralds, changes necessary to safeguard the health of local farms and our planet.
Hepple Wilds is an exciting, remote estate where nature is gaining a much needed foothold. I was delighted to be invited onboard to help tell the story of the fantastic work they’re are doing.
The gallery below shows a sneak peak from one of their first events, exclusive walks will be running throughout the year.
The North East Battery Alliance is organised by Newcastle University. In their vibrant annual conference academics meet with industry professionals to discuss all aspects of electric batteries. The ethics and sustainability of the processes are scrutinised, innovation and ideas are shared, and real life limitations and problems debated. NEBA believe that the North East of England is uniquely placed to become the forefront of this industry, bringing jobs and prosperity to our region. The images from these productive meetings show just the tip of the iceberg which is this important sector and their aims for a more sustainable future. For me remembering to record the action with images can be tricky among such a distracting and optimistic atmosphere.
